Precision Products PA42GY 42-Inch Plug Aerator Review

I got the 42 inch because I wanted it narrower than the 48. It came mostly assembled all I needed to do was bolt the tow bar on and the lift lever. I didn't need to buy any nuts or bolts. Took all of six minutes. The build is heavier than I expected. I filled up the weight box and off I went. I am pleased with the service and construction. Only one thing. the cardboard box it was shipped in is a bit to flimsy many of the spikes had came through the sides. But nothing on the aerator was damaged. Hope the rest of the items it the delivery van faired that well.

Product Description:
The Precision Products PA42GY 42-inch plug aerator removes plugs from your lawn, loosening soil and allowing nutrients to reach your grass' roots. Like all plug aerators, it is best for use in clay soils, in areas like playgrounds and sports fields that get heavy traffic, and lawns that are burned-out or damaged by drought. The aerator has thirty-two 13-gauge steel plugging spoons that penetrate as deep as 2-1/2 inches. It attaches to nearly any mowing tractor and features a steel-reinforced towing bar. For ease of use, a single-action level can be reached easily from the tractor and engages or disengages the aerator with one pull. An 11-gauge steel tray holds an additional 150 pounds of weight to increase penetration level. The aerator rolls smoothly on two 10-inch pneumatic tires with steel wheels. A limited 90-day warranty covers the aerator.--Jeffrey Dalto

Precision Products 50-Pound Capacity Tow-Behind Broadcast Spreader TBS4000RDGY Review

I have a half acre yard and a small lawn tractor. This spreader has met my needs and exceeded my expectations; it was easy to clean and light weight. I was able to hang it from the garage ceiling so that it would not use floor space.I am pleased with my purchase.

Precision Products TBS6000RDOS 6-Series 130-Pound Tow Behind Broadcast Spreader with Rain Cover Review

The Precision Products broadcast spreader seems well built and was designed as a tow behind unlike some less expensive spreaders that are just modified walk behinds.Besides handling a heavier load, the wider tire spacing of a true tow behind keeps it from tipping when going over bumps or when making sharp turns.A strong gearbox is very important for a tow behind and the all metal gears and enclosure should give many years of service. The tires are pneumatic and big enough to carry the full load.

Assembly seemed simple, but when I tested the feeder rate button I couldn't get it unlock and move easily. It looked like I needed to squeeze the button to unlock it and after trying to do so with pliers I discovered inadvertently that I just needed to push the button in.Embarrassing, but in the process I discovered that, while the feeder controls look like they are made out of cheap plastic, it's some really tough stuff that I expect will last the lifetime of the equipment.

I have only used the spreader once and with only about a 30 lb load, but the feeding rate control and the spreader mechanism all worked well. The feeding control was easy to reach from my lawn tractor's seat so that I could shut off or turn on the spreader as needed. There was never a time I felt like the spreader was going to tip over on my relatively flat, but bumpy lawn. The spreader did the job well and seems like it should last for many years of use.Precision Products TBS6000RDOS 6 Series 130 lb Tow Behind Broadcast Spreader with Rain Cover

Precision Products TBS7000RDOS 7 Series 200-Pound Tow Behind Broadcast Spreader with Rain Cover Review

We have just used this spreader for two days, but we are impressed with the design and the sturdiness of it.It is built to travel over our rather lumpy pastures and not jam, change its settings or break, as several previous spreaders have done.It really can carry 250 lbs of lime, etc. There is an internal screen that keeps hard lumps out of the spreading mechanism, and a cover that keeps rain from altering the flow of material.

I have two complaints. The first is that the hand control to open the feed of material and start spreading is impossible to reach while seated on our lawn tractor. We have a long hitch because it has to fit under large grass catch bins.It is awkward to get off the tractor to open the chute because of course the lime or fertilizer immediately starts to flow down and out while you race to get moving forward. We are planning to make some kind of extension on the control handle.

The other complaint is that the packaging of this item was competely inadequate for shipping. The first one arrived totally smashed and had to be returned. The second one arrived in a box that had clearly blown open and we worried that some of the hardware would be missing.Fortunately it was all there.A sturdier box and some supportive packing material is needed for this heavy and irregularly shaped item

Swisher 12886 60-Inch Lawn Roller Review

Shipping crate was poor and damaged in shipment allowing (minimal but repairable) damage to roller.Information that the Roller was only 14 inchs in diameter rather than larger was missing from any internet sources and pictures were deceiving thus the the roller was found to be smaller in diameter that expected. The roller tow bar was not made out of as heavy of material as I would have desired (1 inch square stock that had only eight inch walls).Otherwise it was OK.

Precision Products PLR1848 18-Inch by 48-Inch Poly Lawn Roller Review

The order arrived fast, and the lawn roller is heavy duty, easy to assemble, works great.
4 stars due to the box was destroyed and some hardware was missing. About 4 weeks later the missing parts I ordered arrived.
Would have given 5 stars even with the missing parts with the exception of slow customer service.
